Being needed everywhere can keep you from being present anywhere.
It can feel good to be the person everyone calls. There is evidence of your usefulness everywhere. But a day of quick responses can leave the people beside you getting only the version of you that is waiting for the next interruption.
Some responsibilities genuinely require availability. Others have become urgent because you have always answered immediately. Try naming the difference. Being clear about when you can help gives others a chance to plan, and gives the person in front of you a chance to finish their sentence.
Who gets your replies, and who gets your attention?
