HOW WE PUBLISH
Editorial standards
Clear authorship. Traceable sources. Honest dates.
Authorship and evidence
Articles identify their author. Research-based claims should link to the original source where available, with the distinction between evidence and the author’s interpretation made clear. We do not treat a link or a statistic as a substitute for checking what the source actually supports.
Publication and updates
A saved draft is separate from the published article. Publication dates reflect the first release; an updated date reflects a newly published revision. Design changes do not reset an article’s publication date.
Images and AI assistance
Illustrations should not be presented as documentary photographs. AI-generated editorial artwork is identified in its caption. The author remains responsible for the claims and sources in an article, including work prepared with AI assistance.
Corrections
To report an error or a source that needs review, email charles@icharles.com with the article link and the specific passage. Corrections are reviewed before a revised article is published.
