Some progress looks like leaving a box unchecked on purpose.

An unchecked box can mean forgetting, avoiding, or making a considered decision. The mark looks identical. That is why a list can make a thoughtful day resemble an unsuccessful one if you never record what changed.

When you deliberately leave something, name the reason. Another need became more important. New information changed the plan. You reached the limit you intended to respect. You can keep the unfinished task visible without pretending that finishing it was still the right choice.

Which unchecked box represents a choice you would make again?
