iCharlesOpen Life OS The short version
We collect what we need to send what you asked for and to run the services you use. We don’t sell your personal information or share it for advertising. You can unsubscribe, export or delete at any time.
What we collect
- Subscriptions: your email address, the lists you choose, confirmation and unsubscribe dates, and basic delivery events.
- Life OS and apps: your account details and the content you create (tasks, notes, documents, files, calendar items), plus the settings and device sessions needed to sign you in.
- Booking: your name, email, the time you pick and anything you write in the booking form.
- Ask Todd: the messages you send and any contact details you choose to share, so we can answer and follow up.
- Website analytics: pages visited, referring site, approximate location from IP, and device and browser type.
- Documents you send for signature: the files, signer names and emails, and an audit trail of signing events.
How we use it
To send the emails you chose, run your account and apps, schedule and confirm calls, answer your questions, keep the services secure, prevent abuse, and understand which pages help readers. We use your information only for these purposes or as the law requires.
AI processing
Some features use AI models: Ask Todd’s answers, writing help in Life OS and drafting of AI-assisted articles. When you use them, the relevant text is sent to the model provider (such as Anthropic) to produce a response. We don’t use your private Life OS content to write public articles.
Who helps us
We use a small number of service providers under contracts that limit their use of your data: Cloudflare (network and security), email delivery providers, Stripe (payments), Google (analytics) and AI model providers for the features above. Most of our software runs on our own servers. We share information if the law requires it, or to protect people and the services.
How long we keep it
Subscription records stay while you’re subscribed and briefly after, so an unsubscribe is honored. Account content stays until you delete it or your account. Analytics are kept in aggregate. Backups roll off on a regular schedule.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from any list using the link in each email, change your choices on your preferences page, and export or delete your Life OS content from your account. To see, correct or delete other information we hold about you, email charles@icharles.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or California’s CCPA, and we honor them.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, private networks and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
Children
The services aren’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We’ll update this page when our practices change and adjust the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site or by email.
