Consistency includes learning when to change.
Consistency is easy to recognize when the action stays identical. It is harder to recognize when someone changes their method to keep caring for the same thing. The walk replaces the run. The weekly call becomes a voice message during a difficult season.
Ask what you meant the routine to protect. Health, closeness, learning, or steadiness may survive a change of form. Repetition is useful evidence, but it is not the whole purpose. Sometimes staying faithful to the reason requires editing the ritual.
What could change about the method while preserving what matters about it?
